Interior Painters in Charleston Who Respect the Way You Live

Painting the inside of a home is personal work. Crews move through rooms where you cook, sleep and host, and the finished walls are what you look at every day. We plan interior projects around your schedule, sequence rooms so you always have a usable kitchen and bedroom, and keep work areas orderly from start to finish.

Good interior finishes depend on what you can’t see. Before painting, we fill nail holes and dings, repair cracks in drywall or plaster, scuff-sand glossy surfaces so new paint grips, caulk trim joints, and spot-prime repairs so they don’t flash through the topcoat. Floors, furniture, fixtures and vents are covered, and ceilings get the same attention as walls.

Lowcountry humidity matters indoors, too. Bathrooms, laundry rooms and kitchens call for finishes that tolerate moisture and frequent cleaning, while living rooms and bedrooms may suit a softer sheen. We recommend products room by room and test colors on your walls as part of our painting and color consultation services, so you see each shade in your own light.

If painting is part of a bigger update, our renovation and remodeling team can handle the construction and the finish work together. When the outside of the house needs attention as well, take a look at our exterior painting service.

Interior Painters in Charleston Who Respect the Way You Live

Interior Painting in Charleston, SC, for Every Room in Your Home

From a single-room refresh to a whole-house repaint, these are the spaces we paint most often.

Living Rooms & Bedrooms

The rooms you spend the most time in deserve even color, clean edges and a sheen that suits the light. We move and cover furniture, protect floors and rugs, and put each room back in order when its walls and trim are finished.

Kitchens

Kitchens see heat, steam and frequent wiping. We mask carefully around cabinetry, counters and appliances, and recommend washable finishes that stand up to daily cooking without looking flat or overly glossy, and we keep the room usable for as much of the project as we can.

Hallways & Stairwells

High-traffic halls and stairwells collect scuffs and fingerprints faster than any other walls in the house. Tall stairwells also require safe access and careful staging, which we plan before the first brush comes out. Durable, scrubbable finishes help these walls stay fresh between repaints.

Ceilings

Ceilings reveal every flaw when light rakes across them. We repair cracks and old water stains, prime where needed, and roll even coats so the surface reads clean from every angle in the room. Rooms with tall or vaulted ceilings are staged safely first.

Trim, Doors & Millwork

Baseboards, crown molding, window casings, interior doors and built-ins are where an interior paint job shows its quality. We fill, sand, caulk and paint trim for smooth surfaces and crisp, straight lines, using finishes that resist fingerprints and scuffs on doors and baseboards.

Historic Interiors

Plaster walls, heart pine trim and original woodwork in older Charleston homes call for patient preparation and real respect for original materials. We repair rather than replace wherever it's practical, and choose primers and paints suited to old plaster and wood.

How it works

What to Expect During Interior Painting

  1. In-Home Consultation

We walk the rooms with you, discuss colors, sheens and timing, and note any drywall, plaster or trim repairs needed before painting begins.

  2. Room-by-Room Plan

We sequence the work so key rooms stay available, confirm daily start and finish times, and agree on which furniture we'll move.

  3. Protect & Prepare

Floors, furniture, vents and fixtures are covered; walls and trim are patched, sanded, caulked and primed so repairs disappear under the finish.

  4. Paint & Detail

Walls, ceilings and trim are painted with clean cut lines, and each room is tidied before we move to the next.

  5. Final Review

We walk every room with you, touch up anything you notice, and remove all protection and materials so your home is ready to enjoy.

Questions & answers

Interior Painting FAQs

A single room may take a day or two, while a whole-home repaint can take considerably longer. The timeline depends on the number of rooms, ceiling heights, the amount of wall repair, trim detail and how many color changes are involved. Your estimate includes an expected schedule so you can plan your household around it.

Please put away small, fragile and personal items such as artwork, photos and electronics. Our crew can move larger furniture to the center of the room and cover it, along with floors and fixtures. If any pieces are especially valuable or delicate, let us know during the estimate so we can plan how to protect them.

Finish depends on how the room is used. Flatter sheens hide wall imperfections and suit ceilings and quieter living spaces, while satin or semi-gloss finishes clean more easily and work well in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and on trim. We recommend a sheen for each room during the consultation based on traffic, moisture and light.

Most clients do. We schedule rooms so you keep access to a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom where possible, ventilate as we work, and clean up daily. If anyone in the household is sensitive to odors, mention it during the estimate and we can discuss product options and the order in which rooms are painted.

Yes. Patching nail holes, dings, hairline cracks and minor drywall or plaster damage is part of our standard preparation. Larger problems, such as water damage or a failing ceiling, may need repair first, and our home repair team can handle that work so painting follows on sound, stable surfaces.

We start by talking through the mood you want, your flooring and furnishings, and the light in each room. Then we test sample colors directly on your walls so you can see them in the morning and evening. Charleston's bright natural light can shift colors noticeably, so testing in place saves second-guessing later.
