A driveway is often the first thing a guest notices, and in the Lowcountry it rarely stays bright for long. Mildew darkens concrete in the shade of live oaks, fallen leaves leave orange-brown tannin prints, pine straw and Spanish moss collect along the edges, and sprinklers drawing on well water can leave rust-colored streaks across the pavement.
Flat concrete — driveways, sidewalks, garage aprons and pool surrounds — is cleaned with a rotary surface cleaner, which spins pressurized water evenly beneath a hood. That avoids the zebra stripes and etched lines a handheld wand can leave, and it keeps spray off your car, siding and plantings. Edges, steps and corners are then detailed by hand.
Pavers, bluestone, brick walkways and travertine call for more restraint. Too much pressure can wash out joint sand, chip edges or loosen individual stones. We clean these at controlled pressure and let you know if any joints look as though they need fresh sand afterward.
Hardscape cleaning is part of our pressure washing service in Charleston, and many homeowners pair it with a house wash or deck and patio cleaning so the entire property is finished on the same day.
