Most of the windows we clean in Mount Pleasant are not truly dirty in the usual sense. They are clouded. Salt carried on the breeze from Charleston Harbor dries into a fine haze, spring pollen from the oaks and pines settles on top, and sprinklers along the foundation leave mineral spots on the lower panes. Each layer is thin; together they flatten the light coming into the house.
The homes here give us a wide range of glass to work with. In I’On, many houses follow the Charleston single house pattern, with tall divided-light windows facing long side porches. Homes along the bluffs in the Old Village look across the harbor toward the peninsula and Sullivan’s Island, and their owners want that view crisp. Newer houses in Carolina Park and Park West tend toward larger panes, transoms and two-story foyers that are hard to reach without the right ladders and poles.
We clean all of it by hand, then detail the frames, sills and tracks so the job looks finished up close. Many clients pair a visit with a house wash in Mount Pleasant so runoff from the siding does not spot freshly cleaned glass; we sequence the two in the right order. Our main window cleaning service page covers specialty glass and maintenance plans in more depth.
